Weekends

Yesterday, I went to church in Linz again. I'm always looking forward to the services because the moment I stepped into the church I felt everything about the week that has happened just gone for the moment and I felt good having to sing familiar songs here in Austria. It's hard to get by. I'm surprised they had hillsongs too. It's not really a big church like u have thousands of people but I always love this medium-sized church where I meet people easily and they knows about you well enough to notice your appearance and disappearance which was great.

After church, I had dinner at Plus City (where we watched movie the other day) with David and his friend who looks like a twin bro. haha seriously. I should have took a picture of them both. We had thai food. I have been taking Asian food lately and I really miss them all. We had a short hang out and then David sent us home. One lesson to learn in Europe here is that "Never Overload Your Car at all times".

Getting driving license here is not easy not to mention pricey. It can cost up to 1500Euro (RM6300++) to complete the driving lessons. Other than that, the driving test is not easy either. I was told there is this rule when you drive pass a bus, you'll have to be ready to brake anytime and if your leg is caught being on the gas pedal, you will fail ur driving test. Reason being, when you pass a bus, passengers may come down anytime so you will need to brake anytime. And they have to undergo at least 2 lessons driving at night with a driving instructor. Driving during day time and night time differs to them. There are many more rules while taking up driving lessons. At such, people don't simply break rules on the road because their license will be terminated for a certain period or if severe will need to retake the theory lessons etc.

Plus, after gotten their license, for a certain period, they will need to have their parents sit beside (or maybe anybody with valid license) while they drive around. Otherwise, they will be fine. And hence the discipline that the people has here.

Unlike Malaysia, it is so easy to obtain a driving license. You can even bribe to get ur license. After gotten the license, we're on probation for 2 years but we don't need parents guardian during driving. We don't really care about following rules on the road and to some cases, there's such a thing as 'duit kopi' when you're being stopped by a police on the road.

That is why when it comes to fetching 5 passengers which total up to 6 person in a car (including driver), it never cross our mind that we are committing a huge offense. lol When we missed our last train back to Wels that day, we have got no choice but to squeeze into the car. All of a sudden, David and his friend, Simon got silent totally. And we can see how scared were they when they realised they need to fetch us all. They were seriously worried that they will be caught by police and all. So, we jus try to bend around hoping nobody notice us and luckily it was night time. We got lucky when we passed by the police and they didnt notice it. I can sense David's heart is stopping at that moment. lol

When we reached, Simon explained to us about the offense of driving 5 passengers in the car. Yeah, they were so scared and worried that they can't even talk throughout the whole journey. haha If drivers are caught driving 6 person in a car, the fine can total up to 3000Euro pardon me it's RM12 000++ No wonder they were so afraid. Hence, no more next time.
