The story behind Mooncake Festival, The Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread.

What do you noe about the Mooncake Festival or some may call it Mid-Autumn Festival? Do you actually know the real reason of celebrating this festival?

An Eastern legend says tht 10 suns appeared in the sky one day. Because of the unbearable heat, a strong archer was sent to shoot down nine of them. He succeeded and was made the emperor. But he was evil! His wish to rule forever was almost realized when he obtained a pill that was said to ensure immortality. His wife Chang-E stole the pill and consumed it herself so tht she could save the ppl from his tyranny. She then floated to the moon, bringing her pet rabbit along.

Many Chinese rmb Chang-E, the lady on the moon, and her Jade Rabbit when they eat mooncakes and carry lanterns during their celebration commonly known as the MOoncake Festival.

Sounds unbelievable, doesn't it?? Especially since man has walked on the moon and he found no Chang-E -and no rabbit! Despite that, the festival is still celebrated in countries where there are amny Chinese. THis is because Chang-E is a symbol of courage and altruism. The celebrants don't care whether or not such a person ever existed.

In the book of Leviticus, Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread are not simply another set of man-made festivals. They have neither legend behind them nor human virtue to celebrate. The festivals are days for Jews to rmb a significant event in history when God intervened to rescue ancient Israel from slavery. God was their merciful Redeemer.

There was another reason to observe these appointed feasts. The ppl were to rmb tht God is holy, set apart, and above all creation for His own good purpose. What a great privilege! What an immense responsibility too.

Well, just take at least 5 mins to rmb what God has done in your life and how had He blessed you in every part of ur life. Praise and thank Him for every bits of blessings you've got. Be thankful tht you've made it till this day and I'm sure it wouldnt be easy without God's faithful guidance and strength. Amen.
